Based on the best-selling book, Sean Penn's (The Pledge, The Indian Runner) Into the Wild follows Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch: Lords of Dogtown, Alpha Dog) as he gives up all his material possessions, burns the money in his wallet, and hitchhikes out to live in the Alaskan wilderness. The film tells the story of his journey and the characters he meets as described in McCandless' original journals, and features supporting performances by William Hurt (The Good Shepherd, Broadcast News) and Catherine Keener (Living in Oblivion, Friends with Money).

Natalie Portman (V For Vendetta, Garden State), the insecure manager of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, inherits the magical toy store from Mr Magorium (Dustin Hoffman: Perfume: The Story of a Murder, Hook) himself... but the Emporium's magic seems to wane as Mr. Magorium announces his retirement, and the new owners have to find a way to keep the magic alive.

Halle Berry (Monsters Ball, Perfect Stranger) struggles to overcome a personal tragedy in Things We Lost in the Fire. After losing her husband, she forms a fragile bond with a struggling drug addict (Benicio Del Toro: Sin City, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), and, along with her two children, they work to keep the fragile household together.

Hayden Christensen (Star Wars Ep II: Attack of the Clones, Shattered Glass) awakens during heart surgery only to people planning his murder in Awake, as he struggles to keep the girl of his dreams (Jessica Alba: Good Luck Chuck, Fantastic 4) and survive his could-be-murderous doctor (Terrence Howard: The Brave One, Hustle & Flow).

The documentary My Kid Could Paint That, about the young girl whose paintings were compared to Jackson Pollock and sold to galleries, and the controversy that arose when it appeared that the child had received parental help with her masterpieces.

A nine year-old girl struggles to understand her parents and her new life, as her household shifts from high-life bourgeois to radical activism in Blame It on Fidel!

Disney's 101 Dalmatians is new this week, the first time the animated classic has been available on DVD. Max Rules puts a group of pre-teen superspies in charge of a stolen micro-chip, and armed with Max's scientist uncle's gadgets, embark on a high-tech adventure.

New this week in Reckless Video's TV New Releases is the Series Finale of Extras, putting the ending on on the series much the same way the finale of The Office did. We also have the complete Hamish MacBeth, starring Robert Carlyle (28 Weeks Later, The Full Monty) as a small town Scottish cop coolly solves the crimes and misdemeanors on his beat. Reckless has also picked up the second season of the Travel Channel's Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, the third and fourth seasons of nostalgia sitcom That 70's Show, and the second season of Xena: Warrior Princess.
