Craptacular!

There is a fine line between love and hate.

Lately Reckless Video has had a love affair with movies that are particularly awful.

We have been enamored of Mystery Science Theatre 3000, the TV show where really bad movies are watched by Joel/Mike, Tom Servo and Crow. They comment on these terrible movies as they unreel before us in all their terrible, stupid, ridiculous glory. If you haven’t had a chance to be introduced to the hilarious splendor that is MST3K (as it is affectionately know among those “in the know”, this month is your chance to get the discs for $2 dollars. Also on the wall we will be including some of our other favorite “Craptacular” movies. You may ask what the genesis of this terrible/wonderful wall came from; I blame The Room. One of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. A movie that makes Ed Wood appear to be in the same category as Martin Scorsese. It is a vanity project that was made by Tommy Wiseau. This “auteur” has concocted a cringe-worthy extravaganza of soft core, cartoonish, creepy characters that inhabit a world where the mumbling Wiseau is a God. He looks like he’s had a bit too much Botox, and speaks in a Euro-trash accent where the acCENT is often on the wrong sylLAble. This movie is genius because it seems that he is taking it all very, very seriously, poor Dear.

So take April’s $2 wall with a grain of salt, (preferable around a Margarita glass), place your tongue firmly in cheek, and get ready for the ride.
